Turned up and there was no one around so headed up to Pevensey. Passed a van on the way, so when discovering no-one at Pevensey, I headed back to Cooden and found about five vans, but no real wind. The forecast had some big stuff coming, but I had to get back home at 2pm because the missus wanted to hit the Jan sales so I was on babysitting duty. Fell asleep in my car - New Years Eve had been a late one and the hangover was bad. Woke up to the car rocking a little so poked my head out to find a sailable wind, but not a very good one. The weather was obviously up to something, so I was a bit wary of rigging my 7.8m if it was about to go ballistic as I only had about 45 mins to sail. Rigged the 6.5m and took the big board and that proved the right choice. Not enough wind when I first hit the water, but it soon started to pick up. Had a good blast for 45 mins and then came in just as the wind really picked up and the hardcore boys started to rig up. Apart from being rained on while changing behind my car, it was a fine sail and meant that I had got to sail the last day of 04 and the first of 05 - which is a first for me.
